Yolande

How does one describe the illustrous Yolande Painchaud, how does one summarise her magnificient career in arts? After looking through her vast experience we can agree on this fact :

Yolande Painchaud is a multidisciplinary artist.

Following musical studies. opera. dramatic arts, stage, dance fencing...with numerous honours, mentions, awards, gold medals and study bursaries, Yolande left her native land for France where she continued artistic studies.
In Paris, she developed a career as a professional singer without giving up any of her other passions such as teaching voice and piano, stage directing and costume making.

In 1992, Yolande returned to her beloved Îles-de-la-Madeleine and continues with the same fervour doing what she knows best and involving herself in the Islands cultural scene..

Upon her return she founded a choir : "Au Coeur des Îles", mounted and directed numerous concerts and continues to teach voice and piano.

As an ardent defender of the cultural history of the Islands, she, with a valiant band of cultural stalwarts, refurbishes the Centre Culturel de Havre-Aubert returning it to its original vocation that of presenting the culture of the Îles-de-la-Madeleine.

Director of the Centre, she is the creator and producer of the historical recreation :

" Mes Îles, Mon Pays. "
